Willow Grove Mall Makes Wishes Come True

When Willow Grove Park Mall cleaned out its decorative fountains recently, it was the Kisses for Kyle Foundation that "cleaned up." Kisses for Kyle president Sharon Snyder said, "We were happy that Willow Grove agreed to donate a month's worth of coins that shoppers tossed in the fountains, but we were amazed that it came to $604."

Mall Marketing Director Deb Gilson said, "The mall always works to support the community, and we're especially happy to help local organizations." The Kisses for Kyle Foundation ( www.kissesforkyle.org) is based in Willow Grove and provides assistance to families dealing with childhood cancer.

After Willow Grove employees loaded the thousands of coins into buckets, Kisses for Kyle volunteers dried them and took them to Commerce Bank in Newtown to be counted. Senior Customer Service Representative Bill Cannon noted, "All our branches have coin counting machines that are available to everybody and anybody. It's a community service…we have people bringing in coins from jars at home and from fundraisers all the time." Cannon patiently monitored the coin counting, unjamming the overtaxed machine and doing the heavy lifting. "It's all part of the job," he said.
