Makefield Women’s Association distributes Harvest Day Proceeds

Funds raised at Harvest Day in 2009 were turned into scholarships and charitable donations by the MWA. Months after Yardley Harvest Day, members of the Makefield Women’s Association get together for the most important meeting of the year.

That’s when they distribute proceeds from the event to beneficiaries and scholars. The presentation took place April 7 at the historic Elm Lowne farmhouse in Lower Makefield Township.

Jennifer Ketler, MWA president, presented the checks to the 2010 beneficiaries. “This is one of the best meetings we have every year, because we work very hard to raise this money, and we are very proud to give it back to our community,” she said.
