Kisses for Kyle Artwork Contest for Middle School Students

Beginning on Monday March 15th, students interested in participating in our artwork contest will begin seeking out family and friends requesting that they sponsor them in our contest to help local children with cancer.  They will have three weeks to raise a minimum of $15, create their artwork and submit it to our foundation. We will provide each student with information including our brochure, a letter explaining the fundraiser and an envelope with a sign up sheet for sponsors.

The artwork will be the result of their artistic interpretation of what Kisses for Kyle stands for.  We will provide each student with information on who Kisses for Kyle is, what our mission is, who and how we help within our own community.  The student’s artwork can be creative as they would like.  Some examples are drawings on paper, computer generated, or free standing such as sculptures with clay, metal or anything else they would like to create!  Once they are finished with their project, they will need to take a digital picture and submit the high resolution photo to Kisses for Kyle. 

Each 15 schools with have an individual to judge them on the following criteria:  Creativity, interpretation of Kisses for Kyle’s mission, and celebrating children! Students will need to submit their artwork to Kisses for Kyle by Monday, April 5th.  The judging of the artwork will be completed by April 9th.  Winners of each school will be announced on Monday, April 12th.  On Friday, April 16th, we will distribute Kisses for Kyle t-shirts to each student who entered the contest.  The t-shirt will have your school’s name along with the winner’s artwork!  We will also present $500 to the student who won this part of the contest.  A special prize will also be given to the student who raises the most funds through sponsors. 

During the week of April 19th, all 15 judges will determine a grand prize winner.  They will be judging the 15 winners from each school at this time.  We will have a winner by Friday, April 23rd.  At that time, Kisses for Kyle will contact the school whose student has won the grand prize!  We will choose a day that is convenient to the school to announce the winner in the auditorium or gymnasium in front of the entire middle school!  We will have the media on hand as well!  The student and the school will be featured on our website and a press release will go out to all of the local newspapers and stations!  The student will be brought up to receive recognition and they will then be able to choose their grand prize of either:  $2,500, 4 weeks at the Willow Grove Day Camp (this prize would be for new campers only) or a condo for a week in Ocean City, New Jersey!
